JAGtechnic Black Tie Affair

Posted on:29/11/2014

On November 26, 2014 East Sussex JEC Sponsors JAGtechnic hosted its black tie charity event at the Winter Gardens Theatre in Eastbourne. This was the finale to the company's epic 1,200 mile drive across Europe in September that finished in Venice.

The aim of the event was to raise further money for St.Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne. This was achieved with an auction that included such glamorous items as a trip on the Orient Express, a Brands Hatch track day and a historic Jaguar experience day at Goodwood accompanied by Jaguar's legendary former test driver Norman Dewis.

Yet the star item was the 1995 Jaguar X300 XJ6 Sovereign that was used on the rally to Venice. Recently refurbished by JAGtechnic and using parts supplied by sponsor, Jaguar Heritage, the car looked magnificent under the Winter Garden Theatre's lights.

Norman Dewis and Tony O'Keeffe (once Jaguar Heritage's curator who now works in Jaguar's press office) provided guests with insights into significate moments from Jaguar's past as well as its exciting future. Following the double act, two others then entertained the guests - Britains Got Talent 2014 finalist, the ventriloquist Steve Hewlett, plus an Adele Tribute artist, Helen Ward Jackson.

As a result of the sponsorship from the trip to Venice plus the charity gala, JAGtechnic has raised a combined amount of £15,319, a staggering three thousand pounds over the initial £12k target.

JAGtechnic's Paul Chipp-Smith would like to thank everyone that has supported this worthwhile endeavor.
