2011 Committee Elected

JEC Members select their Committee

Posted on:30/10/2010

As announced previously we held our AGM at The Boship to a packed meeting on Monday, October 18th. After the Regional Co-ordinator’s report on 2010 and the presentation of the accounts by the Hon. Treasurer, there followed the election for next year’s committee. Standing for re-election from this year’s committee were Simon Seath, Paul Chipp-Smith and Vanessa Pockett.  Standing for election to the committee were Neville Barker, David Harding and Archie Paxman each of whom had been proposed and seconded in accordance with the rules.  All were elected on to the committee by the members present, and Neville Barker was elected unanimously to be the Region’s new Regional Organiser.

Neville has been a long standing member of the JEC, starting off in the very early days when he was Regional Organiser in Norfolk in the mid-80s.  With considerable experience in administration and management, Neville is the ideal person to build on the successes that we have enjoyed over the last year, and to grow the Region.

Since the AGM we put in a team for the Eastbourne and RAM Motor Club’s annual quiz at their club meeting place in Eastbourne, and which we won.  Each member of the winning of team of four was presented with a bottle of wine.

The next, and last, event on this year’s calendar will be the Christmas Dinner at The Farm, Friday Street, Langney, for which we have 30 members and guests booked.  There will be live music until midnight, so it looks like being a great evening.

The first club evening in January 2011 will be held at JAGtechnics new premises in Eastbourne. JAGtechnic, sponsors of the East Sussex region have invited JEC members to attend their official Launch Night. For further information, see the Calender pages on this site.
