Upcoming Event Details

Dear Fellow Jaguar Enthusiasts

As you read this you will probably be struggling with crowds, wrapping paper etc. or still wondering what to get somebody for Christmas.  Therefore I think it is reasonable to wish you seasons greetings and hope that this will take your mind away from such stresses for a few moments.

If you are receiving this for the first time, hello.  I periodically send newsletters to all members whose email addresses we hold.  We protect the information and do not use it for anything other than promoting the regions activities.  However, if you would rather not receive emails please do let me know and I will remove you from the data base.

We meet on a regular basis and constantly look to add to the calendar to ensure our members can enjoy the benefits of being a part of the East Sussex Region of the JEC.  Our monthly evening meetings are now mainly at The Inn on The Park, a venue which we seem to have very quickly settled in to.  Already there has been a noticeable change in the atmosphere with more members having a meal before the meeting and staying after to sit and chat to each other.  The Inn provides a very nice, reasonably priced menu which is available from 6:30 for our evening meetings.

We held the East Sussex Region Christmas Dinner on Friday 9th December at The Farm, Friday Street with a great turnout of 26 people, a most enjoyable evening and a pleasant start to the season’s festivities.

In my last missive I promised you a “Superb Programme” for the coming year and I am delighted to say that your committee have worked hard to support that promise and create what I hope you will agree will make for an interesting and entertaining year, we do hope you will join us.

Just as a reminder, The Inn on The Park is at Deanland in East Sussex, the postcode is BN27 3RN.  Turn off the A22 at the Golden Cross Pub (sign posted Deanland, Wood Park) on to Sheepcote lane and immediately turn right on to Deanland road.  The Inn is 0.8 of a mile down the road and it will be on your left.  If you are coming from the A27 through Ripe, it is 3.8 miles from the A27 and it will be on your Right

                                                            Neville Barker

Chairman – East Sussex Region of the JEC

And so on with the show (or snow)

Fancy a bottle of Champagne? As it is supposed to be the season to be jolly and there are never enough Christmas cracker jokes! I have compiled a Christmas/Jaguar Crossword which I hope will provide a few moments of amusement.  So after the Turkey, Sprouts, Christmas pudding and too many Quality street (other confectionaries are available) why not spend a little time relaxing and fill it in.  Bring your completed crossword along to the Meeting on 16th January and we will put it in a hat/bucket/? and draw a winner, the prize is a bottle of Champagne – the answers will be checked with the Chairman’s interpretation of the Answers being final.  For those who are real crossword aficionados, you will find that this follows none of the normal conventions!
