We were treated to an enthralling talk by Peter Leake, former Jaguar Training Manager, at our August meeting, providing us with many interesting facts about Jaguar’s approach to Le Mans racing in the past from an insider’s perspective.

A buffet and raffle was also held on the same night and a cheque for £505 has been donated to a local charity, ‘Help Lucie’, supporting her efforts to travel to America for specialised treatment, thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, JAGtechnic and members and guests at the meeting.

The visit by Peter Purdom has been deferred to Monday 20th November, with confirmed details available on the web site.

Our next meeting will be a Quiz Night at the Kings Head, scheduled for Monday 18th September so thinking caps on, please.

Our Region’s AGM is due on Monday 16th October, again at the Kings Head and you are invited to show your support and stand for committee membership and bring out your great ideas, for the future benefit of us all.

Please make a note of these dates in your diaries. Full details of these events can be found on the ESJEC website, “calendar” heading, at www.esjec.com. Please check regularly as changes may occur to meeting locations, etc.

For meetings at the Kings Head, these begin at 7.30 however food is available at the pub and we suggest arriving at 6.30 if you wish to enjoy a meal before the meeting commences. Do join us if you are in the area.
